Letter Writing Campaign a Success

The Crown Heights Coalition is happy to say we feel our letter writing campaign has been a huge success. Thank you to everyone for participating; your voices have been heard!!!

The Coalition commends Commissioner Kelly for responding to the the community by deploying one third of the 1800 graduating rookies to six Brooklyn precincts (including the 77th and the 71st precincts) to combat the increase in crime that our community has been experiencing. We see this as a positive and necessary step towards achieving the level of safety we all want to see in Crown Heights.

The Coalition looks forward to working with our precincts and the new recruits to make our streets safer for everyone. We urge all members of the community to attend their precinct council meetings in January to voice your concerns to your commanding officers.

And please extend a warm welcome to these new officers when you encounter them in the community. Remember, police/community relations is a 2 way street, it is up to each of us to do our part.

77th Precinct Council Meeting:
January 14, 7:30 pm
Marcus Garvey Nursing Home
810 St. Marks Place
