Teen Murdered on Saint Marks Avenue (77th Precinct)

On Tuesday August 21st, 2012 at approximately 0119 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a male shot in front of 720 Saint Marks Avenue, in the confines of the 77th precinct. Upon arrival, police observed the victim (M/B/17) with one gunshot wound to the torso. EMS responded and transported the victim to Interfaith hospital where he was pronounced DOA. There are no arrest(s) at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
The identification of the victim is pending family notification.

Four Teens Shot on Fulton Street (73rd Precinct)

On Monday August 13, 2012 at approximately 1830 hours police responded to a 911 call of a male shot inside a playground opposite 2013 Fulton Street within the confines of the 73 Precinct. Upon arrival, police observed the four the following four victims:


1) M/B/16 with a gunshot wound to the left arm, transported via EMS to Brookdale hospital and listed in stable condition.
2) M/B/16 with a graze wound to the right arm, transported via EMS to Brookdale hospital and listed in stable condition.

3) F/B/13 with a graze wound to the back, transported via EMS to Interfaith hospital and listed in stable condition.

4) M/B/18 with a graze wound to the back, transported via EMS to Brookdale hospital and listed in stable condition.

Subsequent to an ongoing investigation, the following arrest has been made:

Murder on Dean Street (77th Precinct)


On Saturday, August 11, 2012 at approximately 0205hrs, police officers responded to 1458 Dean Street within the confines of the 77th Precinct. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a M/B/26 was shot in the chest. EMS responded and pronounced the victim DOA.  There are no arrests at this time and investigation is ongoing.

Sic people were wounded in a shooting assault that occurred at approximately 1905 hours on Sunday, July 29, 2012 in the vicinity of Chester Street and Riverdale Avenue within the confines of the 73 Precinct. Details here

CAUGHT for 2011 Murder on Pacific Street (77th Precicnt)

On June 21, 2011, a 17-year-old named Darrell Smith was stabbed to death at 1785 Pacific Street; Details here.  Police later identified Orpheus Nelson as a suspect.

On Friday August 3rd, 2012 pursuant to a continued investigation the following individual has been arrested and charged with 2nd degree Murder and Criminal Possession of a Weapon.

Save Our Streets Crown Heights: Shooting Response TONIGHT 8/2 at 6 PM: Dead S.O.S. Community, We are saddened to inform you that there was a shooting on Tuesday night at the corner of Kingston Avenue and St Marks Avenue. This has been the second shooting in a week in the S.O.S. catchment; we must gather together to make our voices heard that Enough is Enough.

Please join S.O.S. tonight, Thursday, August 2nd at 6 PM at Kingston Avenue and St Marks Place to respond to the violence. 

We respond to every shooting that occurs in the S.O.S. target area to ensure that these tragedies do not pass unremarked as though they are normal and acceptable. We create a safe space on our streets, at the site of the shooting, where neighborhood residents can raise their voices in protest.

Double Murder on Georgia Avenue (75th Precinct)


On Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at approximately 0041 hours, police responded to a 911 call of persons shot in front of 456 Georgia Avenue, within the confines of the 75 Precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed two males at the location with gunshot wounds. Victim #1 (M/B/28) had sustained one gunshot wound to the head, and victim #2 (M/B/24) was discovered with gunshot wounds to the leg. EMS also responded to the location and pronounced victim #1 DOA at the scene. Victim #2 was transported to Brookdale hospital via EMS, where he was pronounced DOA. There are no arrest(s) at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

NYPD Seeks White Jetta Involved in Mass Shooting (73rd Precinct)



Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating the white Volkswagen Jetta vehicle seen in this photo. The vehicle is believed to have been used by the suspects in a shooting assault that occurred at approximately 1905 hours on Sunday, July 29, 2012 in the vicinity of Chester Street and Riverdale Avenue within the confines of the 73 Precinct. Police responded to a call of shots fired and determined that there were six victims. EMS was on scene and removed all of the victims to Brookdale and Kings County Hospitals.  All of the victims are in stable condition. There are no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.
