Help Catch the Pitkin Ave. Burglar (73rd Precinct)


Detectives from the 73 pct are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect depicted in a surveillance photo during the commission of a burglary

1. Friday 5/11/12 0917 hrs at 1744 Pitkin Ave


2. Wednesday 5/17/12 0830 hrs at 1744 Pitkin Ave


3. Saturday 5/19/12 0500 Hrs at 1742 Pitkin Ave


4. Monday 5/28/12 at 0815 hrs 1533 Pitkin Ave


5. Wednesday 5/30/12 1030 hrs 1661 Pitkin Ave


All of the above locations are commercial establishments where the suspect enters the locations and removes property ranging from USC to clothing and computer equipment.


During the 5th incident a photo of the suspect was captured.

The New York City Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating the following missing person who resides within the confines of the 73rd Precinct. The details are as follows:

Andrea Warren was last seen leaving her residence located at 414 Sutter Avenue, on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at 2200 hours. Ms. Warren is described as being a F/H/13, 5'5" and 120 lbs. with brown hair and eyes.

Murder on Decatur Street (81st Precinct)


On Saturday May 26th, 2012 at approximately 2052 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a male shot in front of 451 Decatur Street, in the confines of the 81st precinct. Upon arrival, police observed the victim (M/B/26) with multiple gunshot wounds to the body. EMS responded and transported the victim to Interfaith hospital where he was pronounced DOA. There are no arrest(s) at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

Teen Murdered on Howard Avenue (81st Precinct)


On Friday May 25th, 2012 at 2335 hours in front of 90 Howard avenue, within the confines of the 81st precinct, police responded to a call of an unconscious male. Upon arrival, police observed the victim, a M/B/18, with a gunshot wound to the back. EMS responded and transported the victim to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced DOA. There are no arrest(s) at this time. The Investigation is ongoing.

MISSING: Have You Seen Adriel Barnett? (71st Precinct)


The NYPD is seeking the public's assistance with the whereabouts of Adriel Barnett who went missing from the confines of the 71st Precinct. The missing was last seen leaving for school from her home located at 317 Lefferts Ave. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at approximately 0630 hours.

Adriel Barnett is described as a F/B/14, 5'02" in height, 130lbs, medium complexion, brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing a blue denim shirt with a black tank top and white canvass sneakers.

TONIGHT: Arts to End Violence Film Night by Save Our Streets Crown Heights



Tonight, as part of the 2nd Annual Arts to End Violence Festival, S.O.S. Crown Heights is having a Film Night with the Kings County Cinema Society. The event will start with a selection of locally-produced music videos, documentaries and youth media submitted to the Arts to End Violence Festival. The videos will be screened at 7pm, followed by a discussion with the local artists as well as community activists.

Then at 8pm, Kings County Cinema Society will present a special screening of director Maggie Hadleigh-West’s recent documentary PLAYER HATING: A LOVE STORY (2010, 95min). Filmed in the Albany Projects in Crown Heights, Player Hating follows rapper Half-a-Mill and his Brooklyn crew, The Godfia Criminals, as they struggle to launch Milion, in an effort to attain money, success and recognition through music. Player Hating delves intimately into the lives of young “thugs”, and takes the viewer into an underground world of poverty, alienation, gangs, violence and music that most audience members have an inkling of, but few rarely see—unless they’ve lived it. WANTED for Failed Bank Robbery on Pennsylvania Avenue (75th Precinct)


Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating a M/B/28-32 wanted in connection with an armed bank robbery that occurred at approx. 0915 hours on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 1388 Pennsylvania Ave. in the confines of the 75 Pct. The suspect entered the location, passed a note to the teller demanding money, displayed a black firearm, and fled the bank empty handed.

The suspect is a M/B/28-32, 5'10", 180 lbs. and was wearing eyeglasses, a red T-shirt, blue cargo pants, and black sneakers.

WANTED: Gerald Spears for Shooting of 12-Year-Old at Union and Utica (71st Precinct)

UPDATE 5/23:  Gerald Spears has been arrested and charged with Felony Assault, Reckless Endangerment and CPW (firearm) in regard to the following incident.

The NYPD is seeking the public's assistance with the whereabouts of Gerald Spears, who is wanted in connection with an Assault/Shooting in the confines of the 71 pct. The Circumstances are as follows:


On Monday, May 21, 2012 at approximately 1930 hours, Police responded to a 911 call of persons shot inside of 298 Utica Avenue within the confines of the 71 Precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed a M/B/12 with a gunshot wound to the leg and a M/B/34 with a graze wound to the arm. EMS also responded to the location and transported the victims to Kings County Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition. A M/B/45 was arrested at the scene and a .9mm handgun was recovered from the scene. A second suspect, M/B/23, fled location prior to arrival of Police. The investigation is ongoing.

Stabbed to Death on Crystal Street (75th Precinct)

On Sunday, May 20, 2012 at approximately 1725 hours, police responded to a 911 call for a male stabbed in front of 88 Crystal Street, in the confines of the 75 Precinct.  Upon arrival, officers located a M/H/26, stabbed in the chest.  EMS also responded and transported the victim to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced DOA.  An investigation is ongoing.  Identity of the victim is pending proper family notification.

Early Morning Murder on Vermont Avenue (75th Precinct)


On Saturday, May 19, 2012 at approximately 0400 hours, police responded to a report of a male shot in front of 920 Vermont Avenue, within the confines of the 75th Precinct.  Upon arrival, responding officers discovered the victim, a M/B/24, with multiple gunshot wounds to his back.  EMS also responded to the location and transported the victim to Brookdale Hospital were he was pronounced D.O.A.  There has been no arrest(s) in regard to this incident and the investigation is ongoing.

The deceased has been identified as Isiah Chapman (M/B/25) of 580 Stanley Avenue and notification to the family has been made.

Shot to Death on Saint Marks Ave. (73rd Precinct)

On Sunday May 13, 2012 at approx 1820 police responded to a 911 call of a male shot in front of 1631 St. Mark's Avenue in the confines of the 73 Pct. Upon arrival police discovered a M/B/20 who was shot 1x in the torso. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced DOA. Investigation is ongoing

WANTED: iPhone Muggers on Kosciuszko (79th Precinct)


Detectives from the 79 Pct are requesting the public's assistance in identifying the suspect depicted in the following video. The circumstances are as follows:
On Wednesday 04/09/12 at approximately 0005 hrs the victim (F/W/26) was entering a residence at Kosciuszko Street and was approached by a female that asked her the time. When the victim took out her iPhone to look at the time a male suspect approached the victim from behind and placed her in a choke hold. The suspect then demanded her property (phone and purse) and then fled the scene E/B on Kosciuszko Street toward Nostrand Avenue.

WANTED: Cowardly Mugger, Saratoga Avenue (73rd Precinct)


The New York City Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in locating the following individual wanted for a robbery which took place on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at approx 1955 hours in the vicinity of Saratoga Avenue in the confines of the 73 Pct.


The suspect followed the victim F/B/88 into a building on Saratoga Avenue punched her in the head and removed her pocket book. The suspect fled on foot. The victim was transported to Woodhull Hospital in stable condition.

The suspect is described as M/B/20's, 6'0" He was wearing a blue coat, black cap, dark-colored pants with two white stripes down the sides, and black sneakers with white stripes.

WANTED for iPhone Snatch, Atlantic Ave. L Train (73rd Precinct)


The New York City Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating the following suspect who is wanted in connection with a grand larceny that occurred within the confines of the 73rd Precinct. The details are as follows:


On Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 0030 hours, the victim, a F/H/29, was riding a northbound "L" train approaching the Atlantic Avenue & Havens Place subway station when the suspect grabbed her iPhone from her hand before exiting the train as it stopped at the station. The victim did not sustain any injuries as a result of this incident.



The suspect is described as being a M/B approximately 19-21 years old.

WANTED for Armed Robbery at Franklin Ave. Station (79th Precinct)



The New York City Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating the following suspects who are wanted in connection with a robbery that occurred within the confines of the 79th Precinct. The details are as follows:
On Friday, April 6, 2012 at approximately 1700 hours, the victim, a M/B/19, was walking on the N/B "C" train platform inside of the Franklin Avenue subway station when the suspects approached him, displayed a firearm and removed his chain before fleeing the station. The victim did not sustain any injuries as a result of this incident.
The suspects are described as follows:
Suspect #1 (armed with firearm): M/B or H, 25-20 years old, 5'7"-5'8" with a neatly trimmed beard and mustache. He was last seen wearing a black jacket with a gray shirt, dark jeans and black hat.
Suspect #2: M/B, 20-25 years old, 5'6"- 5'8" with short hair. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket with the letters "U.S.A" across the chest, blue jeans and a blue hat.

Murdered on Washington Avenue (77th Precinct)


On Tuesday May 1, 2012 at 2151 hours police responded to a 911 call of a male shot in front 763 Washington Avenue within the confines of the 77th Precinct. Upon arrival, police observed a M/B/36 with gunshot wounds to the head and torso. EMS also responded and transported the male to Methodist Hospital, where he was later pronounced DOA. There have been no arrest(s) at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
