Stabbed to Death, Halsey & Reid (81st Precinct)

On Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 0246 hours, police responded to a person stabbed in the vicinity of Halsey Street and  Reid Avenue, located within the confines of the 81 Precinct. Upon arrival a M/B/26 was discovered lying on the ground with a stab wound to his chest. EMS also responded to the scene and transported the victim to KCH were he was pronounced D.O.A.

Murdered on Father's Day (73rd Precinct)

On Sunday, June 20, 2010, at approximately 0131 hours, in the vicinity of 2228 Fulton Avenue, in the confines of the 073 Precinct, police responded to a radio run of a male shot at location. Upon arrival they found a M/H/31 shot in the torso. The victim was transported to Brookdale Hospital by EMS, where he was pronounced DOA at 0320 hours.

Chanel never made it to Applebees. Four days later, Chanel’s body was found in a garbage bag in front of 212 Kingston Avenue in Brooklyn. Four years later, Chanel’s murder remains unsolved. Chanel Petro Nixon was a jewel in our community. Join us as we honor her memory.

Killed on Albany Avenue (71st Precinct)


On Saturday, June 12, 2010 at approximately 2220 hours at 570 Albany Ave, confines of the 71 Precinct, Police responded a call of a male shot. Upon arrival, Police observed a M/B/21 with one (1) gun shot wound to the chest.  EMS responded and transported the victim to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced DOA. Investigation is ongoing.

WANTED for Rape (67th and 71st Precincts)



The New York City Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating and identifying the following suspects wanted in connection with a Sexual Assault which occurred within the confines of the 67 Pct and 71 Pct.

The details are as follows:

On Wednesday June 2, 2010 at approximately 0200 hrs at the location of Linden Blvd and Bedford Avenue in the confines of 67 Pct, the victim (F/19) was walking when suspect #1 grabbed her and forced her between 2 parked cars where he Sexually Assaulted her. Suspect #1 then walked her several blocks to a secluded area located on Parkside Avenue in the confines of the 71 Pct where she was raped. Suspect #2 arrived at the scene at which time he also raped the victim. Both suspects fled the scene. The victim was treated at area hospital.

Suspect #1:

M/B, 5'7",160 lbs. Wearing a Blue jeans, white sneakers, white t-shirt.

Suspect #2:

M/B, 5'10", 200 lbs. Wearing a Grey sweater, black sneakers, black baseball hat, goatee.

Killed Near Brookdale Hospital (73rd Precinct)

On Friday June 4, 2010 at approximately 1656 hrs police responded to a 911 call of a male shot at Amboy Street and Linden Boulevard, within the confines of the 73 Pct. Upon arrival, responding Officers determined that the victim, a M/B/22, was operating a Ford Van with one passenger inside when the suspect, a M/B, exited a green colored sedan and fired numerous times into the vehicle striking the victim 2X in the back. The passenger of the van then drove to the Linden Boulevard Emergency Room entrance of Brookdale Hospital. The passenger then carried the victim into Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced DOA. There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.


Identity of the DOA is pending proper family notification.

ALERT: Young Girls Attacked on Kingston Ave. (71st Precinct)

On Wednesday June 2, 2010 at approximately 1715 hours, in the confines of the 71 Precinct, police responded to an assault in the vicinity of Brooklyn Avenue and Kingston Avenue, upon arrival it was determined that an unidentified M/B/20's had approached a F/W/10 years old and picked her up.  The victim screamed and the suspect fled the location.  Approximately ten minutes later at 1725 hours, at Maple Street and Kingston Avenue, the suspect walked up to a F/B/13 years old and attempted to grab the girl by the arm.  The victim ran and the suspect fled on Kingston Avenue. There were no injuries sustained in either incident, the investigation is ongoing.


The suspect is described as a M/B/20's wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.  He is approximately 5'8" to 6'0" tall.

Stabbed to Death on Troy Ave. (77th Precinct)

On 06/01/10, at approximately 1405 HRS, police were called to respond to 187-Troy avenue, in the confines of the 077 PCT, for a male stabbed at that location. Upon arrival, responding officer's found a M/B/31 who was stabbed 1x in the chest. The victim was removed to KCH Hospital where he was pronounced DOA at 1437 HRS. Investigation Continues.

Fatal Shooting at Essex Terrace (75th Precinct)

On Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at approximately 1929 hours, in front of 2305 Linden Blvd. in the confines of the 075 Precinct, police responded to a radio run of a possible male shot at location. Upon arrival, they found a M/H/29 shot once in the right thigh. The victim was transported to Brookdale Hospital by E.M.S. where he was pronounced D.O.A. upon arrival. No arrests at this time investigation ongoing.

Woman Stabbed to Death at Home (75th Precinct)

On Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at approximately 0221 hours, inside of 425 Pine Street, apartment 1F, in the confines of the 075 Precinct, police responded to a report of an unconscious female at location. Upon arrival police discovered a F/H/39 unconscious with a stab wound to the neck. E.M.S. pronounced the victim D.O.A. at the scene.

On 05/19/10, at approximately 1056 hrs police were called to Franklin avenue and Lincoln Place, in the confines of the 077 PCT for a male shot at that location. Upon arrival, responding officers discovered a M/B/34 shot 1(x) in the head. Victim was removed to KCH Hospital and pronounced DOA. Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death. No arrests. Investigation ongoing.

WANTED for Home Invasion at Ebbets Field (71st Precinct)


The New York City Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying two (2) individuals wanted in connection with a robbery and home invasion that occurred in the confines of the 71 precinct.


The details are as follows:


On Friday, May 14, 2010 at approximately 0830 hours suspect #1 posing as a census worker, rang the door bell of victim, a F/B/31 at 1700 Bedford Avenue. When the victim opened her apartment door, suspect #2 produced a silver handgun and both suspects entered the apartment. Suspect #2 removed victim's jewelry and cellphone. The suspects also removed an undetermined amount of USC from the apartment. The victim suffered minor injuries as a result.


The suspects are described as follows:


SUSPECT #1: M/B/ approximately 40-50 years old, slim build, has bald head. Wearing: Blue suit with a tie.


SUSPECT#2: M/B/approximately 25-35 years old, 210 lbs. Wearing: A gray sweatshirt, long white t-shirt, dark jeans and white sneakers.

On Sunday, May 16, 2010 at approximately 2125 hours, police responded to a male shot in front of 1828 Eastern Parkway, located within the confines of the 73rd Precinct. Upon arrival a M/H/27 was found lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to his neck. EMS also responded to the scene and transported the victim to Brookdale Hospital were he was pronounced D.O.A.

On Thursday, May 13, 2010 at approximately 1620 hrs, police responded to a 911 call of a person shot at 411 Lafayette Avenue in the confines of the 79 precinct.  When police arrived, they discovered a M/B/24 with a gunshot wound to the chest.  EMS responded and the aided was transported to Brooklyn Hospital were he was pronounced DOA.  

There are no arrests at this time.  This investigation is ongoing.

On Monday, May 10, 2010 at approximately 1555 hours in front of 166 Hull Street, in the confines of the 73 Precinct, police responded to a call of a person shot.  Upon arrival police discovered a M/B/25 with a gun shot wound to the side of his body.  EMS responded and transported the victim to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced DOA.

WANTED in Crown Heights Rape (71st Precinct)

Monday 05-03-10 at approximately 0220 hrs the victim, a F/W/32, was followed to her residence by the suspect who forced his way into the household and then robbed and sexually assaulted the victim. The victim was taken to an area hospital where she was treated and released.

During the course of the investigation surveillance footage of an unidentified male following the victim during her commute home was discovered. Police would like to speak to the male depicted in the video to ascertain his involvement in the incident.

On Sunday, April 18, 2010 at approximately 1000 hours in the confines of the 77 Pct.  Police responded to a call for an unconscious male I/F/O 1335 Eastern Pkwy.  Upon arrival police discovered a M/B/20's with a gunshot wound to the head, inside of a 2007 Ford Explorer.  EMS was dispatched to the scene and pronounced the victim DOA at the scene.  Investigation is ongoing.  No ID on victim yet.

On Saturday April 17,2010 at approximately 1255 hrs., in front of 672 Van Sticken Avenue, within the confines of the 75 Pct location, police responded to a 911 call of a Male stabbed.  Upon arrival responding officers discovered M/B/25 unconscious and unresponsive. EMS responded and pronounced the victim DOA at the scene. There have been no arrests made at this time.  M.E. to determine cause of death. Investigation is ongoing.

Shot to Death on Fulton (81st Precinct)


On Wednesday 4/15/10 at 1259 hrs within the confines of the 81 Pct. Police responded to F/O 1959 Fulton St to investigate shots fired. Upon arrival police found a M/B/30 with a GSW to the arm. he was removed to Brookdale hospital where he was pronounced DOA. Police discovered a 2nd M/B/40's with a GSW to the thigh, he is in stable condition at Brookdale hospital. A 3rd M/B/30 was observed running from the scene but was subsequently apprehended. he was removed to Brookdale hospital in stable condition with a GSW to the body. A weapon has been recovered. Investigation continuing.

2 Shot, 1 Dead on Chauncey Street (81st Precinct)

On Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at approximately 0001 hours, in front of 120 Chauncey Street, in the confines of the 081 Precinct, police responded to a radio run of shots fired at location. Upon arrival police found two (2) males shot. Victim #1 a M/H/24, was shot 1X to the head and was pronounced D.O.A. at the scene by E.M.S. Victim #2 a M/B/36 was shot 1X to his right arm and was transported by E.M.S. to Kings County Hospital in stable condition. No arrests at this time. Investigation ongoing.

WANTED in Stabbing at Franklin Ave. Station (77th Precinct)

The New York City Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying the following individual wanted for questioning in regards to the following incident:

On 04/03/10 at 0522 hrs, inside of the Franklin Ave Subway Station, in the confines of the 77 Pct, a M/B/28 was waiting on the South Bound platform when he was stabbed several (during an argument) times by a M/B with a knife. The suspect fled the scene. No weapon has been recovered. The victim was removed to Kings County Hospital in stable condition with stab wounds to the torso and upper body.


M/B/20-25 approx 6'0 185 lbs with braids. He was wearing a white tank top, black jeans, black sneakers a black hooded sweatshirt and a black doo-rag

NYPD Makes Arrest In Relation To Recent Sexual Assaults

(Brooklyn, NY)-  Council Member Letitia James commends the 79th and 88th Police Precincts on their swift arrest of the man who is believed to be responsible for two recent sexual assaults in Bedford-Stuyvesant and Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. The suspect was taken into police custody on Friday, April 1st.

The assaults, which took place on March 16th and March 23rd, were committed in the 'border area' between the 79th and 88th Police Precincts. Council Member James previously called for further undercover detail and general police presence in this area.

"I applaud both the 79th and 88th precincts for their joint efforts in bringing about a speedy arrest, though I remain concerned that this individual seemed to be conscious of the gap that exists in these few blocks between Bedford-Stuyvesant and Clinton Hill," said Council Member James. "It is clear that we must do what we can to prevent any similar occurrences, and I continue to call for more police presence throughout the district."

Burglary Suspect Caught (71st Precinct)


On Friday 4/2/10 at 2300 hours, police arrested a M/B/44 in connection with a series of  burglaries that occurred within the confines of the 71st Precinct.

The details are as follows:

1) On Friday 3/19/10 at 0710 hours, the suspect entered 600 New York Avenue and removed property.

2) On Wednesday 3/24/10 at 2230 hours, the suspect entered 588 Brooklyn Avenue and removed property.

3) On Sunday 3/28/10 at 1730 hours, the suspect entered 1084 Nostrand Avenue and removed property.

4) On Tuesday 3/30/10 at 1600 hours, the suspect entered 527 Rogers Avenue and removed property.

5) On Wednesday 3/31/10 at 0330 hours, the suspect entered 580 Rogers Avenue and removed property.


6) On Wednesday 3/31/10 at 2000 hours, the suspect entered 618 Rogers Avenue and removed property.


7) On Thursday 4/1/10 at 2000 hours, the suspect entered 588 Midwood Street and removed property.

ARRESTED:

CHARGE:   Burglary


Detectives developed information while investigating one of the burglaries which led them to a identify a possible suspect. Through their investigation they determined that the individual was wanted on an active warrant. On Friday 4/2/10 detectives located the suspect in front of 1137 Nostrand Avenue and arrested him on the outstanding warrant.  At the time he was found to be in possession of burglars tools. After further investigation, the suspect was charged as listed above.

WANTED: Rapist, Fulton & Franklin (88th & 79th Precincts)





The New York City Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying an individual wanted in connection with 2 Sexual Assaults that took place in the confines of the 79 precinct.

The details are as follows:

On Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at approximately 0100 hours, in the vicinity of Fulton Street and Franklin Avenue, a F/B/56 was approached by the suspect who was armed with a firearm.  The suspect took the victim to John Hancock Park where he sexually assaulted her and struck her on the head with the firearm causing a laceration. The suspect then fled the location on foot.

The suspect is described as follows:

M/B/unknown age, approximately 5'6", approximately 160 lbs. Black short hair and brown eyes.  He was wearing a green baseball hat, a green military jacket, black boots and brown jeans.

***UPDATE 03-24-10*** 

A new case has been added to the incident that occurred on 03-16-10.

Incident #2 - On Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at approx. 1640 hrs in the vicinity of Franklin Ave. and Fulton St. in the confines of the 88 Pct. a F/B/42 was approached by the suspect who took the victim to an alley where he produced a firearm, struck her in the head, and then sexually assaulted the victim.

The suspect is a M/B/25-35, 5'8"-5'11", 160-180 lbs, and was wearing a green jacket, dark pants, and white sneakers.

On Saturday, March 20, 2010, at approximately 0038 hours, in the vicinity of 354 Madison Street, confines of the 079 Precinct, police responded to a report of a male shot at location. Upon arrival, responding Officers found the victim, a M/B/27, shot in the chest. E.M.S. transported the victim to Woodhull Hospital where he was pronounced DOA. There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.

Mysterious Corpse Found at Schenck and Pitkin Aves. (75th Precinct)

On Saturday 03-13-10 at approximately 1457 hrs on at the corner of Schenck Ave and Pitkin Ave, within the confines of the 75 Pct, Police responded to a 911 call of a suspicious bag. Upon arrival, responding Officers discovered a shopping cart with a black plastic bag containing a body of a male.


The Medical Examiner has deemed this incident a homicide. The victim had sustained a gunshot wound to the head.


The New York City Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying the victim in this homicide.


The victim is described as a male black, approximately 20 - 30 years of age, 5'7" tall, 120 lbs, with short dread locks and a capped front tooth. The victim was wearing blue jeans and white socks. He also had a black ink tattoo of a CROSS on his right shoulder.

On Monday, March 15, 2010 at approximately 1500 hours in the confines of the 88 Pct. Police responded to a call of shots fired in the vicinity of 56 Monument Walk. Upon arrival police discovered a M/B/ 23 with 2 gunshot wounds to the chest. EMS responded and transported the victim to Brooklyn Hospital where he was pronounced DOA. On Friday March 5, 2010 at approximately 1954 hours, in front of 79 North Oxford Walk, within the confines of the 88 Precinct, police responded to a 911 call of a male shot. Upon arrival responding officers discovered the victim, a M/B/18 shot in the back. EMS also responded to the scene and transported the victim to Brooklyn Hospital where he was pronounced DOA.  There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.

WANTED for Home Invasion, East New York Ave (71st Precinct)


The New York City Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating the person seen in the attached photo in regards to a home invasion robbery that occurred on February 19, 2010 at approximately 1900 hrs at 728 East New York Avenue within the confines of the 71 Pct. The perpetrator approached the victim from behind, pushed her into her apartment, knocking her to the ground and struck her several times. The perpetrator then removed property from the victim's apartment.

On Friday 02-19-10 at approximately 2226 Hrs, I/F/O 261 Troy Ave, within the confines of the 77 Pct, police responded to a 911 call of a male shot. Upon arrival, responding officers discovered the victim, a M/B/31 who was shot to the upper back and the right hand. The victim was removed to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced DOA.

On Thursday February 18, 2010 at approximately 0151 hours, inside of 250 Lott Avenue, apartment 2A, in the confines of the 73 Precinct, police responded to a call of an unconscious female.  Upon arrival a F/B/25 was found with trauma to her head.  EMS responded and pronounced DOA on the scene.  There are no arrests at this time, the investigation is ongoing.

Stabbed to Death on Saint Marks Ave (77th Precinct)

On Tuesday 02-16-10 at approximately 2125 hrs at 388 St Marks Ave, within the confines of the 77 Pct, Police responded to a 911 call of a male stabbed on the third floor. Upon arrival, responding officers discovered the victim, an unidentified M/B who had been stabbed in the torso, unconscious and unresponsive. EMS also responded to the scene and transported the victim to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced DOA. There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.

Stabbed to Death Near Getty Station on Atlantic Ave. (81st Precinct)


On Sunday, February 14, 2010, at approximately 0204 hours, in the vicinity of Hunterfly Place and Atlantic Avenue, in the confines of the 081 Precinct, police responded to a report of a male stabbed at location. Upon arrival, they found a M/B/44 unconscious and unresponsive. The male had been stabbed to his neck. E.M.S. responded and transported the victim to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced D.O.A. at 0245 hours. No arrests. Investigation ongoing.

WANTED for Rape: Shayquan Davis (71st Precinct)


The NYPD is asking for the public's assistance in locating the following person who is wanted for questioning in connection with a sexual assault that occurred in the confines of the 71 precinct in Brooklyn.

The details are as follows:

On Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at approximately 2230 hours in the vicinity of Schenectady Avenue, the suspect approached the victim (F/B/17) from behind, placed her in a choke hold and removed property from her. The suspect then proceeded to force the victim to the ground where he sexually assaulted her.

WANTED: Jalanea Smallwood (73rd Precinct)


The New York City Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating a suspect wanted in connection with a STABBING that occurred within the confines of the 73 Precinct.

Details are as follows: 

On Sunday, December 13, 2009 at approximately 1435 hours in front of 215 Legion Street, a M/B/24 was STABBED in his stomach during a dispute with a F/B/22, known to him.  The victim was transported to Kings County Hospital where he was treated and listed in stable condition.  The suspect fled the location.

The suspect is identified as Jalanea Smallwood, a F/B/22 she is approximately 5'2" tall, 125 lbs.

Shot to Death on Montauk Ave. (75th Precinct)

On Saturday, January 23, 2010 at approximately 0113 hours, inside of 287 Montauk Avenue, in the confines of the 75 Precinct, police responded to a 911 call of a male shot. Upon arrival police discovered a M/B/22 shot multiple times to the body. The victim was pronounced DOA at the scene.  There are no arrests at this time, the investigation is ongoing.

WANTED: Mugger, Clark Street Station (84th Precinct)


Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating a M/B/20-30 wanted in connection with a robbery that occurred at approx. 1020 hrs on 01-17-10 on the S/B 3-Train approaching Clark St. Station in the confines of the 84 Pct.

The suspect approached the F/B/13 victim and asked for her personal property. The victim and the suspect had a physical altercation resulting in the suspect ripping the victim's clothes and attempting to sexually assault her. The suspect fled at the Clark St. Station with the victim's personal property.

The suspect is a M/B/20-30, 5'10", and is of meduim built.

Teen Murdered on Flushing Ave. (79th Precinct)


On Monday January 18, 2010 at approximately 1426 hrs. police responded to the F/O 546 Flushing Avenue within the confines of the 79th Pct. in regards to a report of a person shot. Upon arrival of police it was determined that a M/B/18 was shot 2X in the chest by a unknown male. The victim was transported to Woodhull Hospital by EMS where he was pronounced DOA at 1501 hrs. The investigation is ongoing at this time. The identification of the victim is pending proper family notification.

Crown Heights Robberies May be Bias Crime (71st & 77th Precinct)


The New York City Police Department's Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating five robberies in the confines of the 71 and 77 Precincts as bias incidents.

The incidents are as follows:

1) On Saturday January 2, 2010 at approximately 1820 hours in front of 1500 President Street, in the confines of the 71 Precinct, a M/W/15 was approached by two male blacks who demanded his money.  The victim ran from the location with no property removed, no injuries were reported.

2) On Saturday January 2, 2010 at approximately 1821 hours in front of 1507 President Street, in the confines of the 71 Precinct, a M/W/27 was approached by two male blacks, one armed with a firearm, who demanded his property.  The suspects fled before any property was removed, no injuries were reported.

3) On Saturday January 2, 2010 at approximately 1835 hours, in the vicinity of Montgomery Street and Albany Avenue, in the confines of the 71 Precinct, a M/W/25 was followed into his building by two male blacks.  As the victim was entering his apartment, one of the suspects pulled out a firearm and the suspects forced their way into his apartment.  The suspects removed an undetermined amount of cash and fled the location, no injuries were reported.

4) On Saturday January 2, 2010 at approximately 2025 hours, at the corner of St. John's Place and Utica Avenue, in the confines of the 77 Precinct, a M/W/35 was approached by two male blacks who demanded his property.  The victim pushed one of the suspects and was then struck on the side face.  The suspects then left the scene.  No firearm was displayed and no property was removed. The victim refused medical attention.

5) On Saturday January 2, 2010 at approximately 2035 hours, in front of 1441 St. John's Place, in the confines of the 77 Precinct, a M/W/35 was approached by two male blacks who grabbed his waistband and started searching his pockets.  A cell phone and cash were removed from the victim.  No firearm was displayed. The victim sustained no injury.

6) On Wednesday January 6, 2010 at approx 1130 hours in the V/O of Montgomery Street and Kingston Ave in the confines of the 71 Pct two M/B's armed with a handgun attempted to gain entry into the victim's (F/42) apartment. The perps fled the location without gaining entry.

Perp #1 is described as M/B 18-20 approx 6'0 tall

The victim was transported by private means to Interfaith Hospital where he was pronounced DOA. There are no arrests at this time, the investigation is ongoing.

Upon arrival police discovered a M/B/22 who was shot multiple times. The victim was transported to Kings County Hospital and pronounced DOA at approx 0730 hours at KCH.

On Saturday, 12/12/2009, at approximately 0102 hours at 113 Belmont Avenue, within the confines of the 073 Precinct, police responded to a call of a MALE SHOT at the location. Upon arrival, police discovered an unconscious and unresponsive M/B/24 lying i/f/o the location with a gunshot wound to the back. EMS responded to the scene and removed the aided to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced DOA at 0140. No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing. The identity of the DOA is pending proper family notification.
