On Fathers Day 2006, Chanel Petro Nixon, a sixteen year old honor student at Boys & Girls High School in Brooklyn, NY left her home to fill out a job application at Applebees Restaurant in Restoration Plaza on Fulton Street. Chanel never made it to Applebees. Four days later, Chanel’s body was found in a garbage bag in front of 212 Kingston Avenue in Brooklyn. Four years later, Chanel’s murder remains unsolved. Chanel Petro Nixon was a jewel in our community. Join us as we honor her memory.
