Brooklyn couple found dead in apparent murder-suicide

A Brooklyn man shot his girlfriend to death Saturday night and then turned the gun on himself in an apparent murder-suicide, cops said.

Officers responding to a 911 call found the couple dead in the rear bedroom of their third-floor apartment on Lott Ave. in Brownsville about 10 p.m.

Each was shot once in the head. A .380-caliber gun was found nearby, police said.

A fellow tenant in the building heard an argument before the shots rang out, a police source said.

Police report:

ON SATURDAY 09-06-08 AT APPROXIMATELY 2146 HRS POLICE RESPONDED TO 240 LOTTS AVE APT 3L, WITHIN THE CONFINES OF THE 73 PCT, ON A 911 CALL OF TWO PEOPLE SHOT.

UPON ARRIVAL, RESPONDING OFFICERS DISCOVERED VICTIM #1, A F/B/33, WHO HAD BEEN SHOT IN THE HEAD AND A M/B WHO HAD ALSO BEEN SHOT IN THE HEAD IN THE REAR BEDROOM OF THE APARTMENT. EMS ALSO RESPONDED TO THE SCENE AND PRONOUNCED BOTH VICTIMS DOA AT THE SCENE.

THERE ARE NO ARRESTS AND THE INVESTIGATION IS ONGOING.
IDENTITIES OF THE DOA'S ARE PENDING PROPER IDENTIFICATION AND FAMILY NOTIFICATION.
