Ebbetts Field Handyman Charged with Murder

From the NY Post police blotter, Saturday 9/6/08:

A suspect has been charged with murdering a 63-year-old woman inside her Crown Heights apartment last month, police said yesterday.

Anthony Cuyler, 50, allegedly beat Katrine Anderson to death in her seventh-floor apartment inside the Ebbets Field Houses at 9:50 p.m. on Aug. 29.

Cuyler was a handyman at the complex.

Slay charge for handyman

A drug-addled handyman was charged with murder Thursday in the beating death of a churchgoing Brooklyn woman, police said.

Anthony Cuyler, 50, worked in the Ebbets Field Houses, where 63-year-old Katrine Anderson was found slain in her apartment Aug. 29.

Police sources said Cuyler tried to blame the victim, claiming the soft-spoken Baptist was drunk, swung at him and hit her head when he pushed her away.

"He lied. She was just nice to him. He was the one intoxicated. Her face, she looked like she had gone rounds with a boxer," a police source said.

The custodian then removed Anderson's blood-splattered T-shirt, sofa slipcovers and a bottle of wine from the apartment.
