Dad stabbed to death in Brooklyn apartment building Sunday, April 5th 2009A 31-year-old Brooklyn man who became a father about a year ago was stabbed to death Friday inside a Brownsville apartment building.
As Albert Holder gasped for breath, a friend ran to his side and pressed a towel against the open wound to stop the bleeding. Emergency workers raced Holder to Brookdale University Hospital where he died about 6:20 p.m.
"I just held his hand," said Jumal Irizarry, 36, who is engaged to the victim's sister. "But by the time the ambulance showed he was already slipping away."
