Send state police to probe L.I. cop slay, senator begs Spitzer

The killling of Sonia Garcia, an officer from the 77th precinct, has triggered calls for an in -depth investigation

A Brooklyn state senator wants the state police to help Suffolk County investigate the slaying of NYPD Officer Sonia Garcia.

In a letter to Gov. Spitzer, Democratic Sen. Eric Adams asked that the troopers' plainclothes unit, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, be sent to aid local investigators.

"This seems to be a complex case," Adams said at a news conference outside 1 Police Plaza yesterday. "Suffolk County has reached some form of law enforcement brick wall."

C'mon - this is breaking my heart. What can we do to jump-kick the discussion of Sonia back into the light? I just wrote Senator Eric Adams because he's the only voice I know of that raised. I'm shaking my head. Sonia, so lovely.
