WANTED: Attempted Rape on Prospect Place (77th Precinct)



The New York City Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating the following suspect who is wanted in connection with an attempted rape that occurred within the confines of the 77th Precinct.  The details are as follows:
 
On Sunday, September 30, 2012 at 1445 hours, in the vicinity of Prospect Place and Howard Avenue, the victim (F/W/26) was inside of a laundry room located in an apartment building at the location, when the suspect approached her from behind, grabbed her around the neck and threw her to the ground.  The suspect then straddled the victim while on the ground, pulled down his pants and attempted to rape her.  The victim was able to fight off the suspect before fleeing. The victim sustained minor injuries to her face and arms as a result of this incident.
 
The suspect is described as a M/B/40's, 5'8" and 160-180 lbs.

Teen Murdered on Saint Marks Avenue (77th Precinct)

On Tuesday August 21st, 2012 at approximately 0119 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a male shot in front of 720 Saint Marks Avenue, in the confines of the 77th precinct. Upon arrival, police observed the victim (M/B/17) with one gunshot wound to the torso. EMS responded and transported the victim to Interfaith hospital where he was pronounced DOA. There are no arrest(s) at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
The identification of the victim is pending family notification.

Four Teens Shot on Fulton Street (73rd Precinct)

On Monday August 13, 2012 at approximately 1830 hours police responded to a 911 call of a male shot inside a playground opposite 2013 Fulton Street within the confines of the 73 Precinct. Upon arrival, police observed the four the following four victims:


1) M/B/16 with a gunshot wound to the left arm, transported via EMS to Brookdale hospital and listed in stable condition.
2) M/B/16 with a graze wound to the right arm, transported via EMS to Brookdale hospital and listed in stable condition.

3) F/B/13 with a graze wound to the back, transported via EMS to Interfaith hospital and listed in stable condition.

4) M/B/18 with a graze wound to the back, transported via EMS to Brookdale hospital and listed in stable condition.

Subsequent to an ongoing investigation, the following arrest has been made:

Murder on Dean Street (77th Precinct)


On Saturday, August 11, 2012 at approximately 0205hrs, police officers responded to 1458 Dean Street within the confines of the 77th Precinct. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a M/B/26 was shot in the chest. EMS responded and pronounced the victim DOA.  There are no arrests at this time and investigation is ongoing.

CAUGHT for 2011 Murder on Pacific Street (77th Precicnt)

On June 21, 2011, a 17-year-old named Darrell Smith was stabbed to death at 1785 Pacific Street; Details here.  Police later identified Orpheus Nelson as a suspect.

On Friday August 3rd, 2012 pursuant to a continued investigation the following individual has been arrested and charged with 2nd degree Murder and Criminal Possession of a Weapon.

This has been the second shooting in a week in the S.O.S. catchment; we must gather together to make our voices heard that Enough is Enough.

Double Murder on Georgia Avenue (75th Precinct)


On Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at approximately 0041 hours, police responded to a 911 call of persons shot in front of 456 Georgia Avenue, within the confines of the 75 Precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed two males at the location with gunshot wounds. Victim #1 (M/B/28) had sustained one gunshot wound to the head, and victim #2 (M/B/24) was discovered with gunshot wounds to the leg. EMS also responded to the location and pronounced victim #1 DOA at the scene. Victim #2 was transported to Brookdale hospital via EMS, where he was pronounced DOA. There are no arrest(s) at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

NYPD Seeks White Jetta Involved in Mass Shooting (73rd Precinct)



Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating the white Volkswagen Jetta vehicle seen in this photo. The vehicle is believed to have been used by the suspects in a shooting assault that occurred at approximately 1905 hours on Sunday, July 29, 2012 in the vicinity of Chester Street and Riverdale Avenue within the confines of the 73 Precinct. Police responded to a call of shots fired and determined that there were six victims. EMS was on scene and removed all of the victims to Brookdale and Kings County Hospitals.  All of the victims are in stable condition. There are no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.

Two Shot, One Dead, on St. Johns Place (77th Precinct)

On Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at approximately 1934 hours police responded to a call of a male shot at 1324 St Johns Place, within the confines of the 77 Precinct. Upon arrival, officers determined that there were two males with gunshot wounds to the body. Victim #1, a M/B/24, was shot in the right leg and removed by EMS to Kings County Hospital in stable condition. Victim #2, a M/B/25, was shot in the torso and removed by EMS to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced DOA. The investigation is ongoing.

WANTED for Armed Robbery of Gas Station, Malcolm X Blvd. (81st Precinct)


The NYPD is seeking the public's assistance with the whereabouts and identity of the following individual wanted in connection to a robbery in the confines of the 81st Precinct. The circumstances are as follows:

On Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at approximately 0630 hours a M/B walked into the Getty Gas Station located at 10 Reid Avenue and demanded money from the clerk at gunpoint. The suspect received an undisclosed amount of money and fled the location.

Suspect Description: M/B/25-30, 5'8" to 5'10", medium build, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and khaki pants

On Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 1746 hours, police responded to a report of a person shot in the vicinity of the Linden Houses, located at 580 Stanley Avenue, within the confines of the 75th Precinct. Upon arrival, responding officers discovered the victim, a M/B/23, shot in the torso. EMS also responded to the location and transported the victim to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced DOA. Hector Cancel is WANTED for Armed Robbery on C Train (79th Precinct)

This is an update to an earlier post.

On Friday, April 6, 2012 at approximately 1700 hours, the victim, a M/B/19, was walking on the northbound "C" train platform inside of the Franklin Avenue subway station when the suspects approached him, displayed a firearm and removed his chain before fleeing the station. The victim did not sustain any injuries as a result of this incident.

Triple Murder on Lafayette Avenue (79th Precinct)

On Monday, July 2, 2012 at approximately 2351 hours, Police responded to a 911 call of a foul odor at 749 Lafayette Avenue, within the confines of the 79 Precinct. Upon arrival, officers were informed of a foul scent emanating from apartment 2A, on the second floor. Upon gaining entry into the apartment, the officers discovered three persons, (M/B/44, F/B/51 and an unidentified M/B/child), each with a gunshot wound to the head. EMS also responded to the location and pronounced each victim DOA at the scene. A firearm was recovered from the scene. There are no arrest(s) and the investigation is ongoing.

3 Shot, 1 Dead, Corner of Sutter & Ralph (73rd Precinct)

On Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 2329 hours at the corner of Sutter Avenue and Ralph Avenue, within the confines of the 73 Precinct, Police responded to a 911 call of male shot. Upon arrival, responding officers discovered two males shot. Victim #1, a M/B/20, was shot several times in the torso and transported, via EMS, to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced DOA. Victim #2, a M/B/26, was also shot in the torso and transported, via EMS, to Brookdale Hospital where he is listed in stable condition. A third victim, a M/B/20, was transported by private means to Brookdale Hospital where he is listed in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the arm. There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.

On Saturday, June 16, 2012 at approximately 2240 hours, Police responded to a 911 call of a male shot at 19 Sackman Street, within the confines of the 73 Precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed a M/B/25 with multiple gunshot wounds about the body. EMS also responded to the location and transported the male to Brookdale hospital, where he was pronounced DOA. Daniel suffered 23 bullet wounds while at a Father’s Day celebration inside of Cavanaugh-Kelly Park.

WANTED: iPhone Snatcher, Brooklyn Museum Subway Stop (77th Precinct)


The New York City Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying and locating the following suspect wanted for a Robbery that occurred in the subway system in the confines of the 77 precinct.



On Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 1705 hours, the victim, a F/22, while inside of the #3 Eastern Pkwy and Brooklyn Museum train station, was approached by the suspect, described as a M/B/20's, who reached into her jacket pocket and grabbed her I-phone then fled to street area.


Suspect is described as a M/B/20's with a cornrow hair style and dark skin tone.


Suspect was wearing a black waist length jacket, a red, black and white plaid shirt with a white t-shirt underneath. He was also wearing an earring in left ear.

WANTED for Armed Robbery of Ralph Ave. Deli (77th Precinct)


The Police are asking the public's assistance in locating and identifying the following individual wanted in regards to a gunpoint robbery which occurred within the confines of the 77th precinct. The details are as follows:
 
On Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 2150 hours, inside of 444 Ralph Avenue (Ralph Avenue Deli), the suspect entered the store, displayed a black handgun and demanded money.  Suspect received an undetermined amount of USC and fled the location in an unknown direction. Victim did not sustain any physical injuries as a result of this incident.

Suspect: M/B/35-40, medium build, with a red superman baseball cap, blue shirt and blue jeans.

2 Men Wanted for Rape, Prospect Place & Boyland Street (73rd Precinct)

The New York City Police Department is asking for the public's assistance is identifying and locating two (2) suspects who sexually assaulted a F/B/20 in the vicinity of Prospect Place and Boyland Street, in the confines of the 73 Precinct. Details are as follows:

On Sunday, June 3, 2012 at approximately 2330 hours the victim was walking on the sidewalk when suspect #1 put her in a chokehold and produced a firearm. He took her into a stairwell and, as suspect #2 acted as a lookout, sexually assaulted the victim. Suspect #2 then also sexually assaulted the victim, before both suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Both suspects are described as M/B/25-30 years old with medium builds.
Suspect #2 is further described as approximately 5'7" to 5'9", medium complexion, with scruffy facial hair and a gap between his front teeth. He was wearing a gray short-sleeve, collared shirt and blue jeans.

Two Shot, One Dead, at Cozine Ave. Bodega (75th Precinct)

On Tuesday June 5, 2012 at approximately 0327 hours police responded to a call of a male shot at a bodega located at 114 Cozine Avenue, within the confines of the 75th Precinct. Upon arrival, police observed two male victims: Victim #1, a M/B/32, with a gunshot wound to the back and Victim #2, a M/B/25, with a gunshot wound to the right leg. EMS responded and transported both males to Brookdale hospital where Victim #1 was later pronounced DOA. Victim #2 is listed in stable condition. No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.   The identity of Victim #1 is pending family notification.

WANTED for Rape, Lincoln Terrace Park (77th Precinct)

The New York City Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying and locating the following suspect wanted for a rape that took place within the confines of the 77th Precinct.  The details are as follows:
 
On Friday, May 29, 2012 at approximately 0310 hours, F/B/26 was approached by a suspect who said he had a gun at the bus stop in the vicinity of East New York Avenue and Ralph Avenue.  The suspect then forced the victim inside of Lincoln Terrace Park, displayed a gun, sexually assaulted her and fled the scene. Victim was removed to Woodhull Hospital in stable condition.
 
Suspect: M/B, early 20's, 6'0", 150lbs, last seen wearing a grey hoody, red, black, and white sneakers, blue jeans and was holding a gun.

Detectives from the 73 pct are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect depicted in a surveillance photo during the commission of a burglary

On Friday May 25th, 2012 at 2335 hours in front of 90 Howard avenue, within the confines of the 81st precinct, police responded to a call of an unconscious male. Upon arrival, police observed the victim, a M/B/18, with a gunshot wound to the back. EMS responded and transported the victim to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced DOA. MISSING: Have You Seen Adriel Barnett? (71st Precinct)


The NYPD is seeking the public's assistance with the whereabouts of Adriel Barnett who went missing from the confines of the 71st Precinct. The missing was last seen leaving for school from her home located at 317 Lefferts Ave. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at approximately 0630 hours.

Adriel Barnett is described as a F/B/14, 5'02" in height, 130lbs, medium complexion, brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing a blue denim shirt with a black tank top and white canvass sneakers.

TONIGHT: Arts to End Violence Film Night by Save Our Streets Crown Heights



Tonight, as part of the 2nd Annual Arts to End Violence Festival, S.O.S. Crown Heights is having a Film Night with the Kings County Cinema Society. The event will start with a selection of locally-produced music videos, documentaries and youth media submitted to the Arts to End Violence Festival. The videos will be screened at 7pm, followed by a discussion with the local artists as well as community activists.

Then at 8pm, Kings County Cinema Society will present a special screening of director Maggie Hadleigh-West’s recent documentary PLAYER HATING: A LOVE STORY (2010, 95min). Filmed in the Albany Projects in Crown Heights, Player Hating follows rapper Half-a-Mill and his Brooklyn crew, The Godfia Criminals, as they struggle to launch Milion, in an effort to attain money, success and recognition through music. Player Hating delves intimately into the lives of young “thugs”, and takes the viewer into an underground world of poverty, alienation, gangs, violence and music that most audience members have an inkling of, but few rarely see—unless they’ve lived it. WANTED for Failed Bank Robbery on Pennsylvania Avenue (75th Precinct)


Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating a M/B/28-32 wanted in connection with an armed bank robbery that occurred at approx. 0915 hours on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 1388 Pennsylvania Ave. in the confines of the 75 Pct. The suspect entered the location, passed a note to the teller demanding money, displayed a black firearm, and fled the bank empty handed.

The suspect is a M/B/28-32, 5'10", 180 lbs. and was wearing eyeglasses, a red T-shirt, blue cargo pants, and black sneakers.

WANTED: Gerald Spears for Shooting of 12-Year-Old at Union and Utica (71st Precinct)

UPDATE 5/23:  Gerald Spears has been arrested and charged with Felony Assault, Reckless Endangerment and CPW (firearm) in regard to the following incident.

The NYPD is seeking the public's assistance with the whereabouts of Gerald Spears, who is wanted in connection with an Assault/Shooting in the confines of the 71 pct. The Circumstances are as follows:


On Monday, May 21, 2012 at approximately 1930 hours, Police responded to a 911 call of persons shot inside of 298 Utica Avenue within the confines of the 71 Precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed a M/B/12 with a gunshot wound to the leg and a M/B/34 with a graze wound to the arm. EMS also responded to the location and transported the victims to Kings County Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition. A M/B/45 was arrested at the scene and a .9mm handgun was recovered from the scene. A second suspect, M/B/23, fled location prior to arrival of Police. The investigation is ongoing.

Stabbed to Death on Crystal Street (75th Precinct)

On Sunday, May 20, 2012 at approximately 1725 hours, police responded to a 911 call for a male stabbed in front of 88 Crystal Street, in the confines of the 75 Precinct.  Upon arrival, officers located a M/H/26, stabbed in the chest.  EMS also responded and transported the victim to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced DOA.  An investigation is ongoing.  Identity of the victim is pending proper family notification.

Early Morning Murder on Vermont Avenue (75th Precinct)


On Saturday, May 19, 2012 at approximately 0400 hours, police responded to a report of a male shot in front of 920 Vermont Avenue, within the confines of the 75th Precinct.  Upon arrival, responding officers discovered the victim, a M/B/24, with multiple gunshot wounds to his back.  EMS also responded to the location and transported the victim to Brookdale Hospital were he was pronounced D.O.A.  There has been no arrest(s) in regard to this incident and the investigation is ongoing.

The deceased has been identified as Isiah Chapman (M/B/25) of 580 Stanley Avenue and notification to the family has been made.

Shot to Death on Saint Marks Ave. (73rd Precinct)

On Sunday May 13, 2012 at approx 1820 police responded to a 911 call of a male shot in front of 1631 St. Mark's Avenue in the confines of the 73 Pct. Upon arrival police discovered a M/B/20 who was shot 1x in the torso. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced DOA. Investigation is ongoing

WANTED: iPhone Muggers on Kosciuszko (79th Precinct)


Detectives from the 79 Pct are requesting the public's assistance in identifying the suspect depicted in the following video. The circumstances are as follows:
On Wednesday 04/09/12 at approximately 0005 hrs the victim (F/W/26) was entering a residence at Kosciuszko Street and was approached by a female that asked her the time. When the victim took out her iPhone to look at the time a male suspect approached the victim from behind and placed her in a choke hold. The suspect then demanded her property (phone and purse) and then fled the scene E/B on Kosciuszko Street toward Nostrand Avenue.
