Murder at Kingsborough Houses (73rd Precinct)

On Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 0205 hours police responded to a 911 call of a male shot at 708 Kingsborough 7 Walk, Kingsborough Houses, within the confines of the 73 Precinct (PSA 2). Upon arrival, police observed a 36-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the torso. EMS also responded and transported the male to Interfaith Hospital, where he was later pronounced DOA. There are no arrests at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
The deceased is identified as:

Shamon Cook, 36 year old male

WANTED for Murder on Park Place (73rd Precinct)


The NYPD is seeking the public's assistance with the whereabouts and identity of the following individual wanted in connection to the 10/31/13 homicide at 1834 Park Place

The suspect is being described as a M/B, wearing a camouflage jacket, ski cap, and yellow boots.

Murder on Park Place (73rd Precinct)

On October 31, 2013 at 2324 hours police responded to a 911 call of a male shot in front of 1834 Park Place in the confines of the 73 Pct. Upon arrival police observed a M/B/37 shot 1x in the neck. He was transported to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Investigation ongoing.

The victim is identified as

Kevin Thompson, M/B/37 of 409 Saratoga Avenue

Shot to Death on Chauncey Street (73rd Precinct)

On Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 2042 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a female shot inside of 530 Chauncey Street, Apartment 2L, within the confines of the 73 Precinct. Upon arrival, responding officers discovered the victim, a F/H/46, unconscious and unresponsive with gunshot wounds to the her head and torso. EMS also responded to the scene and transported the victim to Brookdale Hospital where she was pronounced DOA. There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.

Infant Shot in Head, Killed on Livonia Ave. (73rd Precinct)

On September 1, 2013 at approximately 1919 hours, police responded to a person shot at 352 Bristol Street, within the confines of the 73 Precinct.  Upon arrival, they observed a M/B/1 with a gunshot wound to the left side of his head.  EMS responded to the scene and transported him to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced DOA. An investigation revealed that the child was in a stroller being pushed by his mother and father when he was shot as they crossed Livonia Avenue.  There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.

Just Before Brooklyn Boy’s Funeral, 2 Arrests in His Killing

 

NY Times: Hours before mourners began filing past the open coffin of a 16-month-old Brooklyn boy who was fatally shot in his stroller last weekend, detectives on Friday broke into a Pennsylvania apartment and arrested two suspects in the killing.  

The arrests were the culmination of a five-day manhunt that stretched from the Brownsville neighborhood, where a .45-caliber bullet ended the life of the boy, Antiq Hennis, to Maryland and Pennsylvania, where investigators suspected the fugitives had gone to hide with relatives or friends.   More here.

MISSING: Shelsea DeJesus, 15 Yrs Old (73rd Precinct)


The New York City Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating the following missing person who resides within the confines of the 73rd Precinct.

Shelsea DeJesus was last seen leaving the Brooklyn Public Library located at 8 Thomas Boyland Street on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 1100 hours.  Ms. DeJesus is described as being a F/H/15, 4'11" and 160 lbs.  She resides at 497 Chauncey Street, Apt 3R.

Leslie Walls was last seen exiting his mother's vehicle in the vicinity of Park Place and East New York Avenue on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 1930 hours.  Mr. Walls is described as a M/B/15, 5'8" and 210 lbs.  He was last seen wearing a white shirt, blue sweat pants and white sneakers.

Four Teens Shot on Fulton Street (73rd Precinct)

On Monday August 13, 2012 at approximately 1830 hours police responded to a 911 call of a male shot inside a playground opposite 2013 Fulton Street within the confines of the 73 Precinct. Upon arrival, police observed the four the following four victims:


1) M/B/16 with a gunshot wound to the left arm, transported via EMS to Brookdale hospital and listed in stable condition.
2) M/B/16 with a graze wound to the right arm, transported via EMS to Brookdale hospital and listed in stable condition.

3) F/B/13 with a graze wound to the back, transported via EMS to Interfaith hospital and listed in stable condition.

4) M/B/18 with a graze wound to the back, transported via EMS to Brookdale hospital and listed in stable condition.

Subsequent to an ongoing investigation, the following arrest has been made:

Two Arrested for Shooting of Six on Chester Street (73rd Precinct)

Sic people were wounded in a shooting assault that occurred at approximately 1905 hours on Sunday, July 29, 2012 in the vicinity of Chester Street and Riverdale Avenue within the confines of the 73 Precinct. Details here

NYPD Seeks White Jetta Involved in Mass Shooting (73rd Precinct)



Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating the white Volkswagen Jetta vehicle seen in this photo. The vehicle is believed to have been used by the suspects in a shooting assault that occurred at approximately 1905 hours on Sunday, July 29, 2012 in the vicinity of Chester Street and Riverdale Avenue within the confines of the 73 Precinct. Police responded to a call of shots fired and determined that there were six victims. EMS was on scene and removed all of the victims to Brookdale and Kings County Hospitals.  All of the victims are in stable condition. There are no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.

3 Shot, 1 Dead, Corner of Sutter & Ralph (73rd Precinct)

On Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 2329 hours at the corner of Sutter Avenue and Ralph Avenue, within the confines of the 73 Precinct, Police responded to a 911 call of male shot. Upon arrival, responding officers discovered two males shot. Victim #1, a M/B/20, was shot several times in the torso and transported, via EMS, to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced DOA. Victim #2, a M/B/26, was also shot in the torso and transported, via EMS, to Brookdale Hospital where he is listed in stable condition. A third victim, a M/B/20, was transported by private means to Brookdale Hospital where he is listed in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the arm. There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
Identification of the DOA is pending proper family notification.

Murder on Sackman Street (73rd Precinct)

On Saturday, June 16, 2012 at approximately 2240 hours, Police responded to a 911 call of a male shot at 19 Sackman Street, within the confines of the 73 Precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed a M/B/25 with multiple gunshot wounds about the body. EMS also responded to the location and transported the male to Brookdale hospital, where he was pronounced DOA. There are no arrest(s) at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

The DOA has been identified as

Daniel Davis M/B/25 of 790 Concourse Village Bronx NY


Daniel suffered 23 bullet wounds while at a Father’s Day celebration inside of Cavanaugh-Kelly Park.

2 Men Wanted for Rape, Prospect Place & Boyland Street (73rd Precinct)

The New York City Police Department is asking for the public's assistance is identifying and locating two (2) suspects who sexually assaulted a F/B/20 in the vicinity of Prospect Place and Boyland Street, in the confines of the 73 Precinct. Details are as follows:

On Sunday, June 3, 2012 at approximately 2330 hours the victim was walking on the sidewalk when suspect #1 put her in a chokehold and produced a firearm. He took her into a stairwell and, as suspect #2 acted as a lookout, sexually assaulted the victim. Suspect #2 then also sexually assaulted the victim, before both suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Both suspects are described as M/B/25-30 years old with medium builds.
Suspect #2 is further described as approximately 5'7" to 5'9", medium complexion, with scruffy facial hair and a gap between his front teeth. He was wearing a gray short-sleeve, collared shirt and blue jeans.

Help Catch the Pitkin Ave. Burglar (73rd Precinct)


Detectives from the 73 pct are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect depicted in a surveillance photo during the commission of a burglary

1. Friday 5/11/12 0917 hrs at 1744 Pitkin Ave


2. Wednesday 5/17/12 0830 hrs at 1744 Pitkin Ave


3. Saturday 5/19/12 0500 Hrs at 1742 Pitkin Ave


4. Monday 5/28/12 at 0815 hrs 1533 Pitkin Ave


5. Wednesday 5/30/12 1030 hrs 1661 Pitkin Ave


All of the above locations are commercial establishments where the suspect enters the locations and removes property ranging from USC to clothing and computer equipment.


During the 5th incident a photo of the suspect was captured.

WANTED: Cowardly Mugger, Saratoga Avenue (73rd Precinct)


The New York City Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in locating the following individual wanted for a robbery which took place on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at approx 1955 hours in the vicinity of Saratoga Avenue in the confines of the 73 Pct.


The suspect followed the victim F/B/88 into a building on Saratoga Avenue punched her in the head and removed her pocket book. The suspect fled on foot. The victim was transported to Woodhull Hospital in stable condition.

The suspect is described as M/B/20's, 6'0" He was wearing a blue coat, black cap, dark-colored pants with two white stripes down the sides, and black sneakers with white stripes.

WANTED for iPhone Snatch, Atlantic Ave. L Train (73rd Precinct)


The New York City Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating the following suspect who is wanted in connection with a grand larceny that occurred within the confines of the 73rd Precinct. The details are as follows:


On Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 0030 hours, the victim, a F/H/29, was riding a northbound "L" train approaching the Atlantic Avenue & Havens Place subway station when the suspect grabbed her iPhone from her hand before exiting the train as it stopped at the station. The victim did not sustain any injuries as a result of this incident.



The suspect is described as being a M/B approximately 19-21 years old.

The New York City Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating the following missing children (brother and sister) who reside within the confines of the 73rd Precinct.

William and Marianna Caldelario were last seen leaving their residence on Friday, May 4th, 2012 at approximately 1730 hours with an unidentified F/H.

William Caldelario is described as being 5", 100 lbs., with brown eyes, brown hair and medium a complexion. He was last seen wearing a blue coat, blue jeans and black and sneakers.

Marianna Caldelario is described as being 5'1", 100 lbs., with brown eyes, brown hair and medium a complexion. She was last seen wearing a green jacket, blue jeans and white sneakers.
