On Thursday, September 3, 2009 at approximately 1846 hours, at 382 Ralph Avenue (Deli), in the confines of the 77 Precinct, police responded to a call of a robbery with a firearm.
Upon arrival the victim, a M/B/15 reported that while walking on the street he was approached by two M/Black's, one was armed with a firearm. The suspect's attempted to rob the victim but fled after the victim ran into the deli.
Responding officers transmitted a description of the suspects to officers who were canvassing the area. At approximately 1854 hours at Marion Street and Howard Avenue, in the confines of the 81 Precinct, uniformed officers in a marked patrol vehicle observed a male fitting the description given by the victim.
The officers approached the suspect who was armed a Glock 10mm firearm. One officer fired two rounds, striking the suspect in the torso. The suspect was transported to Kings County Hospital where he is listed in critical condition at this time. A second suspect is being sought.
After interviewing the victim, who is a M/B/16, it was determined that there was only one suspect involved in the robbery. The suspect is currently listed in stable condition at Kings County Hospital.
